Available now: Raspberry Pi introduces Raspberry Pi Flash Drives, new globally available USB flash drives (USB 3.0, USB-A) with 128 GB or 256 GB.

Raspberry Pi is expanding its portfolio with new, globally available USB flash drives with 128 GB and 256 GB. Astradis Elektronik, an authorized reseller and industrial partner of Raspberry Pi, is now offering these flash drives for OEM and industrial applications.

About the Raspberry Pi flash drives

The flash drives, which are optimized for Raspberry Pi OS, offer OEMs a stable storage baseline instead of varying USB media with unclear characteristics. This allows boot, update, and write load scenarios to be qualified early on and consistently secured throughout the entire product life cycle.

With clearly specified random access performance of 8k IOPS (4k read) and 20k IOPS (4k write), performance becomes measurable and comparable. This makes it easier to define minimum requirements, design reproducible tests, and document approvals in a traceable manner — a clear advantage for audits and series approvals.

The USB-A interface based on USB 3.0 defines a clear integration and service boundary. Mechanical access, interchangeability, and host compatibility can be determined early on without being dependent on changing connector types or adapters.

Product news
Key benefits at a glance
  • Optimized for Raspberry Pi OS: enables a defined storage baseline instead of varying media assumptions,
  • supports qualification and documentation
  • Named performance scope (random access): 8k IOPS (4k read) and 20k IOPS (4k write) as a starting point for verifiable acceptance criteria and regression
  • USB 3.0 with USB-A: sets a clear integration and service boundary, reduces subsequent adjustments in the housing and maintenance concept
  • Two defined SKUs (SC2140 and SC2141): facilitates BOM and variant governance, reduces ambiguities in purchasing and approvals
  • Direct supply chain via Raspberry Pi and partners, global sales launch: supports consistent rollout planning and reduces market split
